Beach football/soccer (beasal or futebol de areia) started in Brazil, more precisely at Rio de Janeiro. In 1950 the first official tournament was created to unite neighborhood small tourneys that happened since 1940. I captured these images mostly at Leme or Arpoador, my favorites spots.
